… and here is why
Item #1
COUNTER-TOPS – The bench-top is your work surface in the kitchen. No doubt you want a durable material which can be hit quite hard, is forgiving and easy to maintain at the same time. I certainly would recommend a man-made material instead of a natural product. Natural products, such as real marble are very expensive, porous and whether scratch nor stain resistant. If you cannot afford a high-quality material for the entire kitchen, but you have an island then spend some money for the kitchen island counter-top. The reason being is that a kitchen island always catches your eye and is a focal point in your kitchen.
Item #2
CABINETRY – You don’t have to go top of the range for your kitchen cabinets and doors, but also don’t go the cheapest. Choose a mid-price range, which gives you quality and durability. For your overhead cabinetry you might would like to invest into a pair of accent doors to make your kitchen stand out from the crowd.
Item #3
CABINET HARDWARE – I highly recommend drawers over cabinet doors where possible. Drawers are so much easier to access. Additionally, invest into full-extension drawer slides, which makes a great selling point if you do sell your home later. Soft-close hinges and glides are a must have in a today’s kitchen. You might think this is a luxury – but I promise once you have them you can’t without them.
The Blum Space Tower makes your pantry functional. Each shelve is basically a drawer. All your items are easy to see and access.
Last but not least choose good cabinet handles if you don’t go for a handle-less look. Handles get touched with greasy and sticky fingers all the time and need to get cleaned a lot. And we probably use harsher chemicals to do so. Get some good quality handles, such as brushed stainless steel etc.
